The public has the right to food which is not contaminated with Genetically Modified Organisms. It is becoming increasingly impossible even for organic farmers to guarantee that their crops are not contaminated with GMO. There is suppressed research which shows that GMO is damaging to human and animal health and the environment. For this reason I am urging Prime Minister Abbott to ban GMO crops and products in Australia. There are no proven benefits from GMO apart from corporate profits for bio-chemical companies . We also want imported processed food containing GMO ingredients to be labelled, no matter how small the quantity.
