The puppet authorities had deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength in Srinagar and other major towns to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations. The authorities continued to put the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and other Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Bilal Ghani Lone, Nayeem Ahmed Khan and Zafar Akbar Butt under house arrest while Mukhtar Ahmed Waza and Syed Saleem Gilani in police stations. Curfew remained enforced in Shopian for the 15th consecutive day, today. The APHC spokesman in a statement in Srinagar castigated the puppet administration for using repressive measures to prevent the march towards Shopian. Several people were injured due to the use of force by Indian troops and police on the participants of the march in different areas of the territory, yesterday. He appealed to the world community to impress upon India to take steps for resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
