The question I seem to keep getting asked is what kind of shoes do I wear to train in? Why dont I wear squatting/dead lifting shoes? Well Im not an Olympic power lifter. I am an athlete. Whatever pair of shoes I grab as I stumble out of the house in the dark each morning on the way to the gym is the shoe I am training in that day. Could be a pair of Jordans, cross trainers or runners. I am not wearing special shoes to squat. I am not interested in squatting barefoot. I am not interested in bringing an extra pair of shoes to the gym to change into if I want to run sprints or go dunk the basketball for 20 mins after my workout. Ive squatted 700 pounds in turf shoes, air maxs and Jordans. If you use special weight lifting shoes then cool. Nothing wrong with that. Do not be led to believe you need them or they in some way enhance your performance. Less time worrying about the perfect shoe and more time spent working a lot harder....
