The question at work tonight do you believe in aliens, if so why? - TopicsExpress

The question at work tonight do you believe in aliens, if so why? Well because its almost mathematically impossible. Wrap your head around this is you dare. Earths sun is 1 star that has 9 planets revolving around it. Just 1 single star. It is in the milky way galaxy which is just 1 single galaxy. There are 300 billion stars in the milky way galaxy. Think about this if from the SECOND you were born you began counting 1 star every second and you didnt die until you counted the very last star you would live to be roughly 476 years old. Thats just in OUR 1 single galaxy. Which is the average size of most galaxies. In the observable universe there are 1.25 BILLION known galaxies. If you from the second you were born counted 1 galaxy per second youd finish when your roughly 40 years old. Each of those galaxies are made up of roughly 300 billion stars. Each with who knows how many planets revolving around watch one. Remember out 1 sun has 9 planets revolving around it alone. Some may have more some less who knows. NASA believes it would low ball average out to 2.5 planets per star (LOW BALLING IT) If you did the math it comes out to a 1 and trevigintrillion of a chance of us being alone. You literally have hundreds of millions of a higher chance at hitting the powerball Saturday night than to believe that we are the only life form. A trevigintrillion is 10 followed by 72 (SEVENTY TWO ZEROS) Think about that. Do I believe in Aliens? Im not 100% certain that there are.... but Im certainly now close minded enough to think there isnt. Im going to go with theres a much greater than plausible chance we arent alone. For you bible thumpers (not poking fun at yall) who are let me put it to you in laymans terms. Its a 1 in 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 chance... A highball number would be 7 planets per star average which would give us a probability of 1 in a Duotrigintrillion thats 1 followed by 600 (SIX HUNDRED ZEROS) at 5 (FIVE) numbers per second it would take you somewhere around 112 BILLION years to count that chance. Remember the first 1/5 of a second is the chance we are the only life form in the universe the other 112 billion years minus 1/5 of a second is your belief that we are!!!!
