The rains came 2-3 weeks late in Zambia, and stopped 2-3 weeks - TopicsExpress

The rains came 2-3 weeks late in Zambia, and stopped 2-3 weeks early. In a country where about 80% of agriculture is subsistence based and naturally irrigated, cutting the rain season by 4-6 weeks is devastating. My host father told me that now there is no chance his family will have enough food for the whole year. Simply heartbreaking especially since I get a monthly allowance for food, etc. Heres hoping some types of quinoa or amaranth can grow well, because the dependence on maize is literally killing people.
