They stormed the heights and took the Union batteries at bayonet point and suffered substantial casualties. Their valor and courage are celebrated in this movie without embracing the wisdom or purpose of the Civil War. VMI men have fought in every war since the Civil War and have distinguished themselves in combat time and time again. George Catlett Marshall, celebrated by Winston Churchill as the architect of victory in World War II, ran the American effort in the war.
