The real news here: A positive attitude does not cure cancer. Do you think people will take away this lesson, though? Nope. Theyll keep emotionally abusing cancer patients who are not happy enough. Mind you, IF you can fool yourself into being happy that youre staring death in the face, maybe that might sometimes do something good for you psychologically and make your illness a better experience for you. Cool. But thats YOUR decision to make. As for other people, you know how they tell you that you have a moral responsibility to be cheerful in the face of disagreeable things? Remind them of that when they say they cant handle you being sad or angry.
