The real tragedy in all of this is that a contractor such as Snowden, a high school dropout loser, is paid 6 figures while dedicated government employees are given furloughs. All we are doing is making private contractors rich beyond Midas’ wildest dreams while gutting needed government services. This is what the GOP/Tea Party has wrought upon us: … and what i want to know is how do you like your blueeyed boy Mister Death….” The most important underlining issue in this whole incident about Snowden and his revealing our secrets is it points out the failure of our government run by lobbyists. They pour BILLIONS annually into Congress to gain access to decision-makers in government, all in an attempt to influence their thinking. They even write the regulations that Congress passes to regulate themselves. What could go wrong? There are now over 500,000 private contractors that have access to top-secret information. They all do not have top secret clearance as that takes about six months for the FBI to complete checks for each person. Since the GOP/Tea Party, through their never ending attack on our government, has made it all but impossible for a furloughed agency to conduct these background checks, people such as Snowden get access to this information.
