The reason Ndi Anambra. Should vote for Ifeanyi Ubah In his best selling book “Think and Grow Rich” Napoleon Hill listed the major attributes of a leader as follows; Unwavering courage: He said no follower wishes to be dominated by a leader who lacks self confidence and courage. He said no intelligent follower will be dominated by such leader for long. Dr. Ifeanyi Uba is an example of a courageous leader; he pursues his desire with all he has got. A peep into Capital Oil compound at Apapa, Lagos will convince you that he is ready to hire Obama to deploy his mobilization prowess to help with his campaign tagged FREEDOM 2014. After November 16 I can assure you that Anambra’s name will be changed to Definiteness of Decision and Definiteness of plans: This is also one of the character Hill identified that a leader must possess and this young man who is barely over 40 possesses in high measures. He knows what he wants and he has been preparing for it over the years. Or what do you make of his Kero-direct programme which ensures all Anambrians buy Kerosine at the subsidized price of N50 or the Keke NAPEP and Motor-bicycle operators who have been enjoying free fuel every Monday for over 5 years. Cooperation: this is also a virtue Napoleon in his great book also identified that a leader cannot do without. He said a successful leader must understand, and apply the principle of cooperative effort and be able to induce his followers to do the same. Leadership calls for power and power calls for cooperation. And there are two forms of leadership. The first, and by far the most effective is leadership by consent of and with sympathy of followers. The second is leadership by force, without the consent of and sympathy of followers. If you doubted that Dr. Ifeanyi has this quality, something happened in Anambra recently. The Incumbent Governor Peter Obi organized a tree planting ceremony which coincides with the wedding ceremony of Dr. Ifeanyi Uba junior sister in Lagos. The obvious happened almost all the members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, most traditional rulers, presidents-general of town unions, including the main influential stakeholders in the affairs of Anambra State that cuts across political persuasions, abandoned a state sponsored tree-planting exercise by Governor Obi, to attend the wedding ceremony of Ifeanyi Ubah’s junior sister in far away Lagos. Other reasons why the most important stakeholders in the politics of Anambra State snubbed Obi, a sitting governor, are not far-fetched. In fact, traders, who arguably constitute the largest segment of the voting population in Anambra State, see Ubah as their unassailable choice for the tenancy of the Government House, Awka, in 2014, because of the many life-saving assistance and philanthropic gestures he has extended to them over the years. Now, if it is realised that the traders, women, students, artisans, farmers, transporters amongst others who are identifiably rooting for an Ifeanyi Ubah candidacy in the November 2013 governorship election in Anambra State, are the children, brothers, sisters, and mothers of the political stakeholders who shunned Mr. Peter Obi and attended the wedding ceremony of his sister in Lagos, nobody needs the services of any prophet to tell that most Anambra State voters are headed to Ifeanyi Ubah’s political camp. As a matter of fact, most people—teachers, professionals, workers—are said to see Ubah as the only man with the demonstrated capacity to embark on the industrialisation of Anambra State, as well as developing its crude oil resources for the employment and empowerment of the teeming idle hands in the state’s labour market. Most importantly is that almost all the citizens of Anambra State are said to have adopted Ubah as their candidate in the November 2013 governorship election because the spirit of all self-respecting Igbos appears to be rooting for an Ubah candidacy in the election. It will therefore take a counter-directive from the late Dim Emeka Ojukwu to stop the political train called Ifeanyi Ubah from occupying Government House, Awka, after the tenancy of Mr. Peter Obi. I He showed it, for instance, when he took on the powers that be and stood against the injustice that was being perpetrated against the Igbo traders in Lagos. He is a man who has demonstrated uncommon foresight and the ability for strategic thinking, which led to his success in Apapa, where he controls a fair share of the maritime real estate at the Wharf, where he built truck depot years in advance of an anticipated need. He is a man, who continues to rise from the ashes, no matter the pitfalls set against him by his detractors.” (Saturday Independent, May 18, 2013, page 47). Can there be any better testimonials about Ubah’s leadership qualities than the ones expressed here by Emeka Ojukwu Jnr? I am not saying that Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Uba is a saint and he is not also claiming to be one, if he was one he would have been addressed as Reverend Father Uba. If you carry out an honest examination of top contenders in Anambra for the office of the Governor of the state, you will realize that none of them is a saint. Dr. Andy Uba the Senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly is not one neither is Dr. Chris Ngige who is also a senator. Great men are uncommon: I will lift a portion of this revolutionary book “Think and grow rich” to further explain myself. Hill was trying to explain why America is such a wonderful land of immense of opportunity what made this possible. From his research he discovered that America is such a wonderful country because these basic needs food, clothes and shelter are affordable to even an average family. He declared that it is not a fluke but that this was made possible by CAPITAL. He went ahead and define capital, he said capital consists not only of money but more particularly of highly organized, intelligent groups of men who plan ways and means of using money efficiently for the good of the public, and profitably to themselves. These groups consists of scientists, educators, chemists, inventors, business analysts, publicity men, transportation experts, accountants, lawyers, doctors and both men and women who have highly specialized knowledge in all fields of industry and business. He said capitalists are the brains behind civilization. Money without brains always is dangerous. Wondering why he named his business Capital oil it is because he is a capitalist and his kind built America where people all over the world are migrating to because of the opportunity the country offers. So if he eventually becomes the Governor of Anambra state, he definitely will transform the economy of the state and BRF will have no cause to deport folks back to Anambra state
