The reason for my trip to NY this time was the graduation of my nephew, Joey Gonzalez. Born on my birthday and also my Godson, we have always had a special family and spiritual connection. For many years we were a part of each others daily life. One of our favorite memories to rehash is the pizza roll story. When he was little, we would often eat them together. He would suck the guts out then hand me the remains with innocent expectancy, saying Titi...you eat it, and I would eat what was left. He came here last night, to say good bye. With a bag of pizza rolls. We sat on the patio until late (for me) talking, planning and yes, eating pizza rolls. On the last one, he sucked out the guts and I ate the remains.
