The reason that prisons are so full in the USA is not because there are so many violent beasts in society, but because the same citizens that vote for "tough on crime" legislation instead of being smart about crime, end up creating insane draconian laws that will eventually imprison their own sons and daughters, nieces, nephews, grandkids, and the younger generation. Next time you vote for a politician that promises to get even tougher on "crime", just remember that when your own family member stands before judge who has his or her hands tied by mandatory laws. We are eating our young. It is a savage, inhumane cultural fetish that needs to be eradicated by INTELLIGENT people.
