The recent discovery of the limestone at Ngaie in Kyuso - TopicsExpress

The recent discovery of the limestone at Ngaie in Kyuso district, Kitui County has brought confusion to the locals as the new Cyprus Consul General and former Vp Kalonzo Musyoka introduced new Chinese investors to stop the Athi River mining company which had made the deal with residents. Kalonzo who was the former area Mp described the Athi River mining company as the failure which was likely to frustrate the Ngaie locals during the limestone extracting. The Chinese Fenxi company which has also won the tender of extraction coal mines at the nearby coal Mui basin has also shown the interest in limestone. The Fenxi Company is intending to get the tender of limestone, to combine the two tenders in Kitui County indicating that the locals will benefit most from the company. The Chinese group toured the Ngaie area led by Kalonzo and Mwingi central Mp Joe Mutambu to talk to locals so that they can change their mind and abort the deal with the Athi river mining company. Kalonzo said he could not watch out to see his people been misled to throw their property instead of benefitting. He said the Chinese company will be in better position to enrich ukambani from their minerals. I can not wait to see my people living poverty even after they are lying on mines, dont be misled by the unkown and fake companys which will snatch everything from you, said Kalonzo. The locals are living in dilemma without knowing who they should listen to.Though their stand seems to remain to the Athi River mining company which was the first one to visit the area after the limestone discovery.
