The religious are not offended at righteous rules, self-imposed - TopicsExpress

The religious are not offended at righteous rules, self-imposed religion, or strictures. They do not reject having to work hard, obey Bible verses, nor doing good to man. They want to appear good before man at all cost, including demonstrating love for everyone. In fact, they boast of their love. They continually remind you of their love for you. They will always love you. However, once the nature, extent, and quality of the love of God is demonstrated, they recoil. Their great offense is not the sin of man, but the love of God. They cannot allow God to out-love them and so must show themselves more loving than God before man. They cannot tolerate that Gods love does not match their own. Thus, their love actually turns to hate, which they consider to be love.
