The remodeled portion of the Cheyenne Aquatic Center will reopen - TopicsExpress

The remodeled portion of the Cheyenne Aquatic Center will reopen to the public at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12. The Aquatic Center is located at 931 Martin Esquibel Drive, which is located within Lions Park. The remodeled portion of the center includes new family/assisted changing rooms, modern-looking locker rooms, an updated entrance, and new staff offices. The new climbing wall is set to be installed in late November. The expansion portion is scheduled to open in spring 2015. The expansion will include a play structure, new slides, lazy river and warm water lap lanes. The total cost of the Aquatic Center project is $6.6 million. A majority of the funding - $5 million - comes from the Specific Purpose Tax Ballot approved by voters in 2012. The remainder of the funds come from the sale of land to the Menard’s Home Store near Cahill Park, the Cheyenne Community Recreation Mill Grant (Laramie County School District #1), and City of Cheyenne Impact Fees. The Municipal Pool was built in Lions Park in 1976 and went through a renovation in 1992. The spray park was added in 2006 and remains intact. AP Wyoming is the general contractor for the project. Here is the schedule: Wednesday 11/12 6a-8a - Lap Swim 10a-1pm – Lap Swim 7p-9p- Rec Swim Thursday 11/13 6a-8a - Lap Swim 10a-1p – Lap Swim 5p-7p- Lap Swim Friday 11/14 6a-8a - Lap Swim 10a-1p – Lap Swim 7p-9p- Rec Swim Saturday 11/15 11a-1p – Lap Swim 1p-4:30p – Rec Swim Sunday 11/16 11a-1p – Lap Swim 1p-4:30p – Rec Swim
