The replacement of Judge Osuji in the Uhuru case is a clear - TopicsExpress

The replacement of Judge Osuji in the Uhuru case is a clear indication that Uhuru will soon be a free man. In my view, the ICC is just playing mind games to make their final decision appear objective. I have no doubt that ICC was privy to rumors in various platforms that Osuji had been persuaded through Goodluck Jonathan and a possible gift of Turkana oil wells and was working towards helping Uhuru gain his freedom. Whether there is truth to the rumors is immaterial: the fact remains that the integrity of an ICC judge was being subjected to the test. So, heres how the image management works: If Osuji was to become the judge that acquits Uhuru, this would be a problem for the ICC as this would make the rumors seem substantial. On the other hand, if the ICC was determined to nail Uhuru, there would be no reason to want to remove the judge at the centre of the controversy. After all, hed be going against what is being rumored hence reclaiming his image. So, since a deal has already been reached to set Uhuru free, it only makes sense to bring in a greenhorn who has no baggage to purport to have made the decision. Hes fresh, new to the system, and certainly expected to be very fair so as to secure his image. The perfect candidate to save the ICC their image while they whitewash the blood of thousands of Kenyans that were murdered and harmed in many ways in 2008. If you apply this line of reasoning, you will realise that it is a matter of time before Uhurus case is dropped. The ICC has proven to the world that in their scale, power weighs heavier than justice. Anyone intending to capture power is therefore free to do WHATEVER IT TAKES provided that they succeed in the end. Then they can use their newly acquired positions to shield themselves from possible prosecution. Read this development in conjunction with the recently released poll purporting that 60% of Kenyans want Uhuru set free. This figure was much lower a few months ago with no plausible explanation for the change of heart among Kenyans. It is important to note that governments do not get any more popular in the course of their terms. Even the likes of Obama who were elected overwhelmingly had to really battle for their second terms in office. The point is: youre most popular at the time youre elected. If at the time Uhuru was grabbing power he had only 40% of the country on his side, this could only have gone lower and not higher. But since the ICC has been persuaded to sacrifice justice at the altar of convenience, manipulations have to be made to save its image.
