The republicans were at the table trying to do their job and Obama and the democrats were not and demanded everything and refused to take part in the processes that are necessary for a democracy to work out the issues and pass a bill that would clearly prevent a shutdown. It was Obama and the democrats refusal to do anything to cooperate and work on the issues that caused the shutdown. They did nothing to prevent and the GOP was at that table and making proposals and working on it so how can they possibly accuse the GOP of not working to resolve it when they themselves were the ones refusing to work on it. Shame on Obama and the democrats and double shame on Obama and his administration for doing everything in their power to make that shutdown painful on the people, up to an including closing open land that belonged to the people not the federal government and taking handles off water fountains and other spiteful mean acts to agitate and anger the people over that shutdown.
