The resolution to one of our Dillingham enigmas possibly lies in a family bible that is known to exist, but the details have been promised and never shared with me. I know just how difficult it is to track things down and to copy them out and the line has been something of a mystery for almost 200 years now so I guess a resolution does not really matter. It is even possible that the records will not prove the theory I have regarding the possible lineage, but at least it might start me thinking in another direction. However, it was great to come across this reference to one of the descendants and his engagement and possible marriage into a very interesting family ..... - George Moffett Dillingham was engaged to Mary Warren Shelby in November 1929 with the wedding scheduled for the spring. Daughter of Cass Knight Shelby and granddaughter of Judge A S Landis. Also a descendant of General Isaac Shelby the first Governor of Kentucky and Lewis Cass, the first Governor of Michigan.
