The rest.......of Ramblings from the Rodeo......hours five thru 13 1/2........ 1. Little kids conversations are very funny and brutally honest: Little boy asks little girl a question I dont hear.....he spoke quietly. She did not and replies, Oh, I dont know. Daddy and me werent listening. He NEEEEEVVEERR listens. MY ears were off. My mom would know. She always listens. Little boy nods head, continues eating Skittles. Little girl continues chattering.........happens every day in homes around the world!! 2. The attack goats ended up being tons of entertainment........at one point I wrote goats gone wild on my Ramblings list...... 3. Why keep a list?? My phone battery, or lack thereof, makes me crazy!! Dead at the six hour mark. Seriously. Time to upgrade! A true travesty when you cant update your FB status!!! 4. Little kids that can ride a horse well can spot a kid that struggles to ride from a thousand yards out.......and then yell, Oh, my gosh! Look how he rides his horse! Parents can never cover those mouths in time. And, for once, it wasnt my crew. 5. I remembered the kids, horses, checkbook, phone, book, old lady lawn chair, drink.....its July, almost August.......forgot a jacket, blanket, some sort of cover. It was really chilly! 6. Somewhere around 3:00 in the AM is too late for team roping to start.......and there were a ton of events before that! Horses, kids, parents......all tired and grouchy. 7. Somewhere around 5:30 is waaaayyyy too late to be getting home......however, Middle Man is an excellent co-pilot, and we kicked it on in the driveway safely. Little Man was great.....snoozed away in the back seat..... 8. Somewhere around 8:30 is pretty early for Middle Man to have to get up to go to work after getting home at 5:30. Welcome to the real world! Gotta work to pay for playing! 9. Why do this? Because my guys, big and little, love it, crave it, work for it........and I kinda love an old horse myself. Because we can. And really, what else are you doing in the middle of the night??? Sleeping?!! In the words of my Grandpa Strate, People die in their sleep!!! So......were making some memories, maybe even some good/happy ones.......and livin little boys dreams!!
