The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood--idols that cannot see or hear or walk. None of them repent of their wickedness, saying, What have I done? Each pursues their own course like a horse charging into battle. (Jeremiah 8:6) I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols. (Isaiah 42:8) You shall have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3) If you do not carefully follow all the words of this law, which are written in this book, and do not revere this glorious and awesome name--the LORD your God-- (Deuteronomy 28:58) The LORD will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him. (Deuteronomy 28:20)
