The results for Saturdays hockey fixture: 9 August On Saturday Riebeek played against Victoria Park in our final fixture for the season. The U/14A team played with great tenacity and managed a 2-1 victory. Lara Naidoo was the star of the day for the team. The U14B team lost their match 2-0, but should however be commended for their enthusiastic performance. Sarah Werth is deservedly the teams player of the match. Unfortunately the U/16A team was unlucky on the day and lost to a very skilled VP side. The Riebeek girls remained competitive to the very end. Special note has to be made of very committed efforts from Lenae Naidoo and Caydin Nicolaai. The 2nd team played with great spirit and held VP to a 1-1 draw. The whole team contributed with great heart and a special note has to be made of Paige Voges , very well timed, first goal of the season. The 1st team delivered a solid performance, but after a closely contested first half VP managed to break the defensive line twice and scored on both breaks. The team lost 2-0 and it was a bitter-sweet conclusion to an otherwise excellent season. A huge thank you to Stacey Hendricks who stepped in so willingly to help the team on the day.
