The revelation of Jesus Christ is also the revelation of the body - TopicsExpress

The revelation of Jesus Christ is also the revelation of the body of Christ, for it is impossible to have a revelation of Christ the Head apart from a revelation of Christ the body. We are members of Christ, bone of His bone, flesh of His flesh, mind of His mind, will of His will, nature of His nature, and spirit of His spirit. The book of Revelation is about Jesus Christ raised up in, and revealed in, HIS BODY! That should not surprise us, for when Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall we also appear with Him in glory (Col. 3:4). Clothed with a cloud. Again we are immediately pointed back to the Old Testament, where we see Him going before His people, by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lend them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night. (Exodus 13:21). And when He descended upon mount Sinai to speak to Moses before all the people, He said, Lo, 1 come unto thee in a thick cloud. (Exodus 19:9). Later Moses reminded the people, the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness. And the Lord God spake unto you out of the midst of the fire. (Deuteronomy 4:11-12). Significant that there were not only clouds, but thick darkness, for it prefigured the nature of that whole dispensation which was one of type and shadow, revealing and yet obscuring the way of salvation. But now when John sees this Mighty Messenger, there is no mention of thick darkness, for it is a revelation of Jesus Christ, in glory and power to consummate the salvation of which all former types and shadows foretold. Redemption is to become a reality. Even the cloud is personified in a people-- a great cloud of witnesses, which follow the Lamb withersoever He goeth. And His face was as it were the sun. Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: the Lord make His face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: the Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. It is true that in a little wrath I hid My face from thee for a moment, (Isaiah 54:8), but then He promised, with everlasting kindness will I have mercy upon thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer. And thus now He is revealed with His face-- as it were the sun. His feet, or his lifestyle was as pillars of fire. Your feet is what carries you through this life; its your lifestyle. Pillars are Supports. Nobody builds the building without first testing those pillars. Pillars are tested and tried. And its fire. The fire as we have seen over and over again purifies the lifestyle. This is a pure and holy people coming with Him. They have ascended into the heavenlies, now they can descend into the earth to share His glory with man, humanity. This is all about Christ. It is not about man. We are to worship Jesus Christ not the vessel from which He is appearing. Why do you think He did not let them have the body of Moses? Because they would have set it up, bronzed it or gold plated it and made him God. Its the same thing with Jesus. Why do you think theres no body? A natural man will never be seen again; its a corporate man. If you want to see Christ, look around you for it is Christ in you the hope of glory.
