The reviews on Amazon about Pikettys book reflect the dismal state of political discourse in the US. Judging from the reviews, everyone who has actually read the book gives it five stars; but there are also dozens of 1-star reviews from panicked conservatives who havent read the book but are opposed on ideological grounds. The non-readers are easy to spot because all wrote similar rants about Karl Marx. Obedient little minions who follow their daily instructions from the puppetmaster, they demonstrate a contemporary form of Groupthink. Theres an element of irony when the groupthinkers attack collectivism.
