The revolution of the people of Nicaragua (my country of origin) - TopicsExpress

The revolution of the people of Nicaragua (my country of origin) was a massive heroic struggle in which common everyday people fought against a military tyranny under the Somoza dynasty. Everybody was involved in one way or another and THE PEOPLE WON the war overthrowing Somoza in 1979. The AWAKEN leaders began the struggle by EXPOSING social injustices and by starting random insurgent attacks. The struggle then involved everyone else because as a result of the growing inconformity of the people the military forces of the government began to increase the oppression more and more on the civilian population and the injustices were starting to be too many to even count. The PEOPLE of Nicaragua achieved the victory over Somoza in 1979 when he was finally overthrown. Many things good and bad have happened since in Nicaragua, The Sandinistas made a lot of mistakes but then again who hasnt? They are the reason for me being here in the United States now. Ive been back there many times in recent years and is a much better place now than the one I left behind the first time. I do love this country despite many things that I have never really liked about it but Ive learned many things and now I see that we should all be looking for all of those things that unite us instead of finding excuses to hate each other. The one thing that they said in this video that I would like to highlight is this quote when they named the tittle of a book called NICARAGUA- THE THREAT OF A GOOD EXAMPLE
