The ride is set to start on June 25th 2014. Will come down the Old Oregon trail into Missouri, and proceed on rt 50, The old National Trail. Hoping to arrive in Washington DC by late August or early September. Anyone wishing to join in may. Bring a truck to carry supplies, or an extra truck and trailer for necessary hauling of a horse. Bring your sleeping bags. Arrangements with land owners in place for camping. Permitts are in place for the traveling on horses. Lead vehicles in place with flashers. All horse need a up to date coggins for crossing into different states. Most all coggins are good from 6 months to 1 year. States vary. Most all are at least for 6 months. WV is good for 6 months into all the east coast. As the ride is nearing your area, get the cogins in time for results before they reach you. 2 weeks should be sufficient. Must have copy with you. Also bring you non perishable foods or extra money for what ever you want, as we will be riding through towns..if there are any driver with an etra space that I can hitch a ride back to WV with, please send me an IM. I am Nancy Newman Lester, WV. I will have a ride to the meeting place in WV and on the return back. I just need an extra space to carry my things along which will not be much, and a trailor space to hitch a ride back from DC to my starting destination. If there is an extra trailer coming along, I have a friend that would like to fly here from California to ride also. And if anyone brings an extra horse for him, would be greatly appreciated. Also we have horses that does run the strips around some of WV and anyone needing a horse that may be one deemed, the horse no one wants to ride, lol We can find you a few....no problem....:). Just make sure you have some experiance in quick training...lol. Yep WV style of the Wild Mustangs. The horse would be yours to keep at a minimal price for a bail of hay and the hauling to the designated meeting place in WV. Would be getting a horse cheap and one that would be well broke by the time you reach DC. lol. And would be getting these horses a home. Would need coggins. So that would be included in the hauling of the horse to the designated spot. Just let me know how many you need at least a month ahead of time. I have to go catch them! Is sad but many of peoples solution of not being able to care for them or stop them from going to slaughter. People here love the horse to the point that they would rather let a horse try to survive on their own as opposed to slaughter. And usually they do get skinny in the winter, but the fittest are good and fat come spring. They simply over a coarse of time revert back into the wild....just like the mustang....this is why I call them WV style mustangs...lol Yeah, we have our own herds of wild horses that were once a domesticated horse. And they are very easy to find....Because they are everywhere!!!!! We need to find these babies homes!!! Because if the humane officers would go in, they would shoot them...I may be found on IM, so do not hesitate to send me a message. I may be going in a few days to take a look and see how they are as I have not seen the last herd that is suppose to be somewhere at an undisclosed area. The ones that survived will be good til we catch them about a month before the ride. We must receive people that absolutely do want these horses before we catch them, as they are wild....and will take a couple of weeks to get them calm for transporting and a coggins...The rest is up to you! But they do need homes...And NO KILL BUYERS ALLOWED!!!!. Vets phone numbers and address is required! And they will be checked, thorough! Everyone go and like the page and under the about,....read. And if you want to join up, contact Isaac Miller. His phone number is under his name, and he will get back to you. Thanks, Nancy Newman
