The rifle listed below is a Karabiner Model 1931 (K31). This rifle was manufactured in Switzerland by Eidgenossische Waffenfabrik in Bern, Switzerland under Colonel Adolf FurrerBern in the year of 1943. This rifle has the earlier walnut stock. Latter model K31 rifles were featured with birch wood stocks. The wood, metal, and bore of this rifle is in excellent condition. The rifle has a straight pull bolt action that is as smooth as butter and is chambered in the powerful 7.5 x 55 round. When shooting this rifle I normally use the Swiss made GP11 surplus ammunition. This rifle is exceptionally accurate when using the GP11 ammo. I always clean this rifle in the Swiss tradition by using grease only and no oils. A very nice and well made rifle. I have always been partial to Mausers until I shot this piece. This is now my favorite rifle in the entire collection. I still love my mausers, especially the historical value, and they shoot very well, but this K31 is by far my most accurate of the bunch. It is also a numbers matching piece. And the rifle still retains the original Swiss soldiers ID tag under the butt plate. For show only. Thanks for looking.
