The right side of history---its a handy phrase. Is there a direction to history? Well, it zigs and zags and U-turns and there are no permanently lost causes and no permanently won causes and oh by the way, history makes mistakes. One day we will not need any of this hocus pocus to live in a moral society, but probably not in our life time. You have to start with yourself and then teach your children to believe right and live right--by your actions and words, then you move forward as a species. It does no good for appeals to the wrong side of history, it does not resolve any dispute in the here and now. Its a wager that neither side will live to pay or collect. Todays trouble is enough for today! Better to concern yourself with today being on the right side--and that is not always the winning side. We want to believe that although the arc of the moral universe may be long--it bends toward justice. Lies distort the past and present. Being on the right side of history argument says you should give up NOT because you are wrong but because you will eventually lose anyway. It describes a problem poorly. We are not dominoes that automatically fall when pushed--we are human beings. Dont support something just to be on the right side of history. Just know that God decides the right side--not mainstream media and not government. Being on the wrong side of history seems to mean the old way is obsolete and should be discarded. Advances and improvements are needed to advance and benefit the people, but you have to know that there really is a right way and it has and will always stand the test of time. You cannot go your own way and profess to be wise--you only become a fool. Should you be in the minset of social lifestyles so you wont be labled narrow-minded and arrogant? Dont let yourself be on the right side of history and the wrong side of God.
