The right to a basic education in South Africa is propagated by Section 29 of the Bill of Rights contained in the constitution. That right has come under the spotlight of late with disruptions in the schooling program in some areas in the Northern Cape as well as Port Elizabeth. With Matric preliminary examinations currently under way, at the back of consistent echoes of the need for more qualified educators, this morning we find out to what extent are we as the South African community infringing on that right to a quality education, furthermore looking to how we begin to remedy the education phenomenon.
