The road along the Nikao Seawall was closed yesterday afternoon - TopicsExpress

The road along the Nikao Seawall was closed yesterday afternoon due to high swells and crashing waves. According to the Meteorological Service, the North West (Nikao area) will be experiencing more high swells today. While the swells were in full form yesterday, the Northern Cooks began to experience high swells on Tuesday earlier on in the week. The high swells are caused by a low sitting between Samoa and Aitutaki. Although nature may change its course, it is understood Rarotonga will not be expecting any decent rain in the next two days. However the Northern Cooks are currently going through occasional showers; heavy at times, along with thunderstorms, high swells and gusty winds.
