The rockets are a Red Herring. All Hamas rockets fired since the beginning of time have killed only 5 Israelis. The simple fact is that Israels political and security apparatus loves the rocket fire since it affects almost nobody but is easily spun into presenting an existential threat which provides the premise for getting an additional roughly $500 million a year in aid from the US (over an above the standing military aid of more than $3 billion a year), ostensibly to develop and maintain so-called Missile defense Systems (iron Dome, Davids Sling etc.) through a private Israeli Defense contractor controlled by Israels security apparatus and which funds are dispersed entirely at the discretion of Israel...
