The role of a journalist is to Comfort the powerless and the poor of their society as s/he makes the mighty and the powerful uncomfortable [Authur Okwemba]… But it looks like after the 2013 March 4 Election Kenya finds itself in a strange situation. The mighty and powerful in government are also the owners of media houses and therefore the employers of the journalists. So for me that State House parley yesterday heralded the beginning of difficult times for the Kenyan journalist…. In America, Obama does not own the media so Journalists can say anything they want about his government and get away with it ( really?). What about Kenya where the power men also own several media outlets? Are journalists going to expose the people who pay their salary?
