The romance with TaliZorah von Normandy (nee nar Rayya) was, for me, one of the most touching in the medium of video games. Tali coming from a race that was profoundly immuno-deficient after living in the controlled environment of spaceships for generations, when she finally falls for Shepard in the second _Mass Effect_, love for her comes with a significant sacrifice. She speaks of how, after the act of love, she was sick for a week with a severe flu, but that it was still totally worth it. I found that sacrifice to be deeply moving. It was the first time I really felt that another character *cared* about my character. It generated, for me, tender feelings for Tali that last to this day. I tried to explain this to my wife. She...didnt understand.
