The roof on my grandmothers house is collapsing and she doesnt have the finances to get it fixed. So what does the City of Cambridge decide to do? Charge her a $100 daily fee until she gets it fixed, then kick her out of the house and sell it. Thats right, a $100 daily fee to not be able to afford to fix a roof, and the threat of homelessness on a widowed old lady. Not helping her pay for it and finance a loan, not look into options for housing for the elderly, but charge her for not having the money.This is outright and blatant elder abuse, and bullying. So on Wednesday I will be buying the house to finance the repairs.
