The room that the cancer department presently occupies has little - TopicsExpress

The room that the cancer department presently occupies has little by way of privacy. Not that we are looking to canoodle with him in the afternoon, but the basics of a working environment are jarringly absent. The door is made of transparent glass and in the corridor outside, bang opposite our room are two chairs kept for visitors, not necessarily for those coming to see us, but for any of the other departments on the floor. The occupants of the chairs have this horrendous habit of brazenly staring into our office without so much as batting an eyelid. Sometimes I wonder what they are taught at home. It is such bad manners to stare. I feel like shaking them by the shoulders and inviting them to join our department for a week where all angularities will be rubbed off by us. Fall in standards everywhere, chancing upon good manners is a rarity.
