The saddest editorial cartoon I ever saw came out that day. It was a drawing of a despondent little Kermit the Frog, holding up a sign (Wile E. Coyote style) that simply read, I lost my voice. In my non-religious family of secular humanists, we recognize creativity as the highest power, and compassion as the highest virtue. Jim Henson, the embodiment of both, remains one of the most revered in our communion of saints. His is an example of the only observable afterlife: we live on through the works we create and in the hearts we touch, the minds we inspire. Thank you Jim, for sharing your humanity.
