The scam, which hit Nampa businesses, is sometimes known as Till Tap, Upchange Scam or Shortchange Scam. One suspect would use a $100 bill to buy a small, inexpensive item at a store, receive his change from the clerk, then tell the clerk he had a smaller bill and ask for the $100 bill back. As the transaction was happening, a second suspect would distract the clerk, allowing the first suspect to walk away with the $100 bill and the change. Heres the father-and-son team arrested by Nampa police:
