The scene shifted to the morning glories in the Loblolly today; huge amounts had blossomed since yesterday with colors of the rainbow, the cross and modest colors of springtime and life. Where do morning glories get their name? Why, of course, because they open in the morning. They respond to the morning and morning light, a new day, a new chance and a fresh shot of energy from God to begin new tasks. But I cry for help , Lord; in the morning my prayer comes before you, says the Psalmist in Psalm 88:13. Psalm 119:147 gives us the promise, I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your Word. I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope. Psalm 130:5. One of heavens most beautiful graces occurred recently with the miracle of the morning glory. A friend who had just lost a closest friend was looking at a beautiful purple morning glory and it was evident....it was as though a light was glowing right out of the flower, a beautiful promise that all is well with the light of Christ safe in the beauty of a purple morning glory, symbol of royalty and Jesus as king who conquered all. So we turn to the hope of Psalm 5:3, In the morning Lord, you hear my voice, in the morning I lay my requests before you. And to that, David adds, But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in time of trouble. Great is thy faithfulness, great is thy faithfulness, morning by morning new mercies I see, all I have needed your hand has provided, great is your faithfulness, Lord unto me.
