The second coup attempt on the 5th of March 2014, was really not sparked by the salary dispute as alleged by the S Sudanese govt, it is part of the ongoing efforts to clear Bilpam Headquarters of all the remnants of Nuer elements of the presidential guards which started on the 15th Dec 2013. Kiir doesnt want them to be his presidential guards anymore which is absolutely his rightful prerogative to choose the force of his liking to guard him. But what I totally disagree with is the brutal method he has chosen. The death toll now stands at somewhere between 80 100 ppl.
