The second of the Mingpao articles today notes that Mr Ambrose Lam has declined to be interviewed by Mingpao, on the ground that the EGM are Law Society internal affairs, and he was quoted as saying words to the effect that he will fearlessly oppose any attempt, in relation to this matter, by politicians or others to take advantage and obtain private benefits through attacks, persecution and unreasonable interference. In view of Mr Lams comments, we hereby ask that he demands publicly a stop to all attempts by non-Law Society member Chinese-owned enterprises, chambers of commerce, community groups, Peoples Consultative Conference members, Central Government Liaison Office members and the like to lobby/pressure Law Society members in relation to the EGM, and that he condemns fearlessly such outside interference in Law Society affairs.
