The second of todays 3 Silver Screen Award nominees is the comedy Men Who Save the World - you may have read it in the news recently for attracting controversy in its native Malaysia. Catch it at the Festival tonight! The film itself is a charmingly ludicrous comedy revolving around a group of comical villagers. Having attracted a spirit after a series of unfortunate events, the villagers’ attempts to protect their village contains everything from a missing camel to cross-dressing shenanigans. Director Liew Seng Tat’s sense of humour is warm and wry, and ultimately a lighthearted depiction of the beliefs that either bond a community or set it apart in chaos.
