While the EFF leader was speaking, rumours began that Zille had promised to pay his election deposit and give him the latest Land Rover Evoque plus a personalised number plate. But Malema denounced this as typically mischievous ANC gossip. Zille toyi-toyed, clapped and ululated so loudly that reporters could hardly hear Malema speak. Afterwards, the grinning Zille said: “We were worried after Mamphela Ramphele let us down so badly. “We did think for a while about Trevor Manuel, but eish, he wasn’t black enough. “Of course, Mosiuoa Lekota was the right colour, but he’s just too tjatjarag! “I was beginning to think that DA might stand for Desperate Alliance after all,” said Zille. “But then Lindiwe Mazibuko said to me, ‘You know, Auntie Zill, maybe we should think of Juju.
