The selfless, shameless things you do to help run and sustain a preserved railway. I (and my vocal cords) drew the short straw this Halloween this year. Yes, I was a ghost. Incidentally, on the first run, I didnt know when the train had gone and therefore when to stop acting. I had a mean kitchen knife and a damn BHS duvet cover over my head and I couldnt hear anything but me. So, I just kept screaming blue murder so as not to spoil the fun. I finally stopped out of breath and gingerly lifted the duvet to discover the train had long gone and I was now entertaining two non-plussed cows in the field opposite. The awkward silence was broken with a succinct reply.... Moo. At the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway P.S. Thanks Alan for the duvet cover.
