The separation of church and state is not about a sacred and secular division. It is not about religion vs. politics. It is not even about charity and business, although this gets closer. And its certainly not about guns. It is about local/voluntary vs. state/federal management of the well being of the people. A local community can engage resources of time and talent, in voluntary capacities for the common good, while the state/fed engages paid services that they bill the local community to support. This is the basis of higher taxes, as they are equality by force. Thus, when the local community fails to be able to work together, practices ignoring each other (like children), or benefits a little special interest group while neglecting the community at large, like the church growth/employment servicing model advocates, the result WILL BE a forced state/fed solution that the local community WILL BE BILLED for through taxing bodies. The issue is very simple. Love your neighbor. Love your enemy. Get off your butt. Stop looking for the church to be your personal servicing center. Stop being such a drain on society, and do your part. Or.. Pay the Fed to babysit you because you need to be babysat. It is all really about the personal voluntary capacity of each person engaged in a community. If someone is whining about high taxes, and they are not working in the soup kitchen, volunteering with the boyscouts or giving time in a church, they are simply a sucking locust that avoids doing their part in society. Giving money is not the issue, as employed charity is not just an oxi-moron, it is a merry go round. The fact is if you are not tithing, which means giving out of abundance in support of your local community, then you are likely simply absorbing resources up and need to be taxed to be baby sat to do what is basic. The whining group that has no local conscience, and is not getting their butts out and helping, are basically the charity cases of society who want everything done for them, while not paying for anything. These locusts, as Joel in the Bible calls them, are the modern equivalents of what are called zombies, which are soul less, spirit less, eating beings. And are the reason for a need for higher taxes.
