The series will start with the first book in the series, The Cuckoo’s Calling, which was published in 2013 and has Strike investigating the suspicious death of a famous supermodel. Rowling initially wrote the novel under the anonymous Galbraith pseudonym, but had her identity leaked by the law firm partner’s wife’s best friend, who tweeted the revelation. The second novel in the series, The Silkworm, was released in 2014. Rowling will collaborate on the project in conjunction with BBC and Brontë Film and TV.
