The sermon given on 20 July 14 entitled Trust in the Book was given by Minister Everett Sanders. Key Scripture Isaiah 55:8-13 Key Points: There is a message in the book for all Gods people. Our focus should be on God. If we are going to do anything to and get Gods blessings, we have to go by His book. We have to make Him the center and focus of our life. When we find ourselves in certain situations, we need to refer to the book there is always a scripture to lift you up. The word of God has power. The word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105. The word will guide us and help us to see where we need to go to escape hard times or when we dont understand. It will help us to be whole and complete. Sometimes we come up with our won systems and ways but we dont include God in it. This will put us spiritually in Babalon and we become slaves to it. We must encourage ourselves in The Lord. We can lean on Gods word because it comes from God. We must take time to study what God is all about, His character and attributes. Anything he speaks, shall be done. Even though God knows everything about us, He still wants to be bothered with us. His attributes: 1- He knows all 2- He is all powerful: He is powerful in our past, present and future 3- The promise of His success God can do everything which means He can do anything to us. Even in our trifling ways He still blesses us with His grace. The way we stand in the church and in God will help us to view what we see in the world. We go from having natural glasses on to having spiritual glasses on. It will help us to understand and see The Lords ways are higher than ours and His ways are not like our ways. We fall short when we try to line our ways up with Gods ways. We try to box Him in or fit Him into our plans, making crooked lines straight. We need to line up with the word. There is no area of human life that the word does not cover. The word does not fail. If it is Gods will, it will be done. Celebration will replace intimidation and anything that was meant to cause us harm will be helpful for us. The promise of production will replace stagnation. If we rely on the word of God, we will grow spiritually as cypress trees and myrtle trees. Whatever system you use, make sure it comes from the word of God. His book.
