The significance of the elimination of either Joe Queenan or Blair Feeney cannot be underestimated. Feeney is based in Dromore West, Queenan close by in Enniscrone. There will be definite exchanges of votes whichever of these two (lowest) candidates is eliminated. If Feeney goes, Dara Mulvey FG will be hoping to pick up enough transfers from his party colleague to stay ahead of Queenan and claim the last of the eight seats. If Queenan picks up enough transfers to jump ahead of Mulvey (there is currently only eight votes between them, Mulvey on 1289 after the last count) then it will be a stunning five FF seats of the eight in that constituency. If Queenan is eliminated, the transfers to Feeney might be enough to push him ahead of party colleague Mulvey and he would then take the last seat.
