The simple translation of this meme? A person working a menial labor position in the USA is on the same post-exchange rate financial strata as a trained, educated, electrical engineer in Mexico; or nurse, or IT tech, or [fill in this blank with a college-degreed position]. Why would you stay in your birth nation, pay the price to get a quality college education and go to work in a chosen field ...in order to make the same money at home that your cousin Lupe with zero education is making in Houston or El Paso or St. Louis laying down roof tiles, washing dishes or driving a truck? Plus he has access to world-class healthcare, a stable municipal infrastructure (hot water tap always comes out hot, roads & bridges are well-maintained, electricity is always on, etc.) via a system he isnt paying into, a free education for his children, a promise that his take-home wage will continue going up (minimum wage hikes), and if he hangs on long enough...the possible waving of a magic wand which -with a *poof*- will suddenly make him a legal citizen of this nation and entitled to even MORE stuff! (like the ability to [legally] vote)
