The sixth (6th) renewal of the David “Wagga” Hunt Football Extravaganza takes place this Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the UWI Mona Field, commencing at 1:00 PM. The extravaganza, which will also feature a Game Day Raffle, comprises the following matches: Barbican FC (Premier League team) vs. Real Mona (Super League team) Pelicans vs. Kingston Commissioner (Masters teams) Kingston College vs. Calabar HS (Manning Cup teams) The feature match (KC vs. Calabar) will commence around 4:30 PM. The patron for the event this year is the legendary football coach, Winston Chung-Fah. As has been the custom since inception, J$100,000 each will be presented to the KC and Calabar Manning Cup Programmes. An event that promotes KC-Calabar friendship, this initiative also includes the Wagga Hunt Scholarship, awarded to a KC and a Calabar Second Form student each year. Each scholarship is valued at J$600,000, going toward tuition, books, lunch and other related expenses. To date, ten students have been awarded this scholarship, with some J$2 Million having been disbursed over the past five years.
