The sixth night of Chanukah... By Eve Ilsen — 1 hour - TopicsExpress

The sixth night of Chanukah... By Eve Ilsen — 1 hour ago Yes, we have entered the time of intensity, of contraction. This morning some light began appearing only after 7:15, to show the wind whipping huge old tree-limbs into wild dance. I acknowledged the Solstice by meditating with a scattered group of friends, writing a bit, cooking up a bodaciously healthy vegetable soup, speaking to a few special dear friends. Later, friends of Yotams were coming over and I whipped up gluten-free blondies in their honor. In the end, only one arrived (a delight) and we will eat it ourselves... (Anyone interested in terrific and easy GF recipes can google . Oops, I dont seem to be able to add a link here, sorry...) We ended up sitting on the little salmon sofa outside the kitchen with the cats, watching the Chanukah candles and a dvd of old Carol Burnett Show episodes on a laptop resting atop a dining room chair. What a brilliant show...I think her material should be required viewing for aspiring family therapists. Along with reading Genesis. I like the suggestion of a Please dont ask me how I am button, but I know it will make people uneasy. I need to learn how to answer that question honestly and briefly. And the answer does change from day to day. It seems that my capacity for words to describe the day and the inner state is as contracted as the light, today. I will go upstairs to hibernate now. Blessings to you all.
