The society I come from is ancient, just the city where I was born dates back to almost 5000 years and there is an enlightening degree of unseen sophistication that can be perceived in how we as Kashmiris treat our children or women or old people as against how people do that in western and more tech savvy materially progressive societies. Some might say that its adherence to Gods rule that makes us behave this way but I beg to differ, I seriously believe that though God might be a contributory factor in isolated minds prone to selfish goals, in the vast majority of us Kashmiris, it is the ancient social fabric that shapes our outlook towards life. This social fabric is based in the cultural homogeneity of Kashmiris and despite changing their religion almost four times over the last 5000 years, the Kashmiri continue to stay faithful to their cultural homogeneity above everything else...........The Indians as well as the Pakistanis just cannot understand!
