The spiraling corruption in Nigeria may finally consume the whole country. The greed and idiocy that make many, especially the so-called leaders, believe that looting the treasury will save them and their families in the face of crushing poverty amongst the majority is myopic. Its the recipe of a country that is bound to violence and anarchy as we are witnessing with Boko Haram and sundry militias. It is not for nothing that the civilized world invests in social security. It is the ultimate security, not the increasing security vote that leaves the country worse off, and makes Nigeria a laughing stock in the comity of nations. Now, heres Ugandan president, Yoweri Musevenis jab at Nigeria and her poor leaders, and the ridicule of the Giant of Africa may just be beginning: “I have never called the United Nations to guard your security. Me, Yoweri Museveni to say that I have failed to protect my people and I call in the UN….I would rather hang myself. We prioritized national security by developing a strong army, otherwise our Uganda would be like DRC, South Sudan, Somalia or Nigeria where militias have disappeared with school children. But who cares in Aso Villa with corruption running riot all over the country and billions stolen daily while the army, the schools, social services, etc continue to decay? Tufiakwa!! - Nduka Otiono
